Hangzhou Two-Day Ancient Town Silk Tour

As far back as the Tang and Song Dynasties, some 900 to 1300 years ago, Hangzhou was already the acknowledged "home of silk" in China. Today the Hangjiahu (consist of Hangzhou jiaxing and Huzhou) Plain where it has a mild climate and fertile soil boasts as the biggest producer of silk and satins in China. Our tour will take you to discover the mystery of silk industry and get to know this "flower of Oriental Art"

Day 1
Our tour guide will meet you in the morning, and have a lake cruise on the West Lake first to start our day tour. After the lake cruise, we will visit Hangzhou Silk Museum. On display, there are unearthed silk fabrics dating from the New Stone Age till the Qing Dynasty as well as the best products from different parts of China. Also recorded here is the time-honored history related to the Silk Route across the desert. Besides, there are also tools and machines ancient and modern, that describe the whole process of silk production from silkworm breeding to silk dyeing. Lunch will be served in a local Chinese restaurant. After lunch break, we will visit the China Silk Town to have some free shopping. If you are interested in Chinese Qipao, the next stop we can go to the ancient style street – Hefang Street to have a free wandering. Here there are a few quite nice Chinese Qipao’s tailor shop. You can ask the experienced tailor to make Qipao dress for you which we can mail to you later. 

Day 2
Today we will visit the ancient town Nanxun where most of farmers there are living of Silkworm breeding. Our tour guide will pick you up in the morning. The ancient town is an hour and half away from Hangzhou. As one of the Top Ten Ancient town in China, Nanxun ancient town will tell you stories that have the fragrance of the time. You can find the footprint here that how the silk industry getting developed and prosperous here. Leaving the town and have lunch in local restaurant or we can visit some farmer's house to see how exactly the farmers raise the silk worm and have lunch there. Back to Hangzhou in the afternoon and transfer you back to your hotel
